Hilary Jones - Dispensing Optician

I have now been a qualified dispensing optician
for 45 years joining Eyeworks in 2003 as a full time
member of a very friendly team.Five years ago I became
semi-retired working just one day a week and covering
holidays and sickness for my two colleagues, Stephen
and Maria.

One of my hobbies has been to be involved with amateur
dramatics, sometimes on the stage but mainly painting
the backdrops for Cobham Players, and I had often
thought about developing this.

I have always enjoyed my professional work but since
reducing my working hours have gone back to my love
of painting, joining a painting class. I was surprised
when another student wanted to buy my first painting
and this spurred me on to join Molesey Art Society
within which I have learned, been inspired, exhibited
and sold several paintings.

I work in several different media and love to experiment
with materials and presentation, now making my own
frames. I paint both realistically and enjoy creating
the occasional abstract under resin, one of which
I am proud to say hangs in Eyeworks test room

“As soon as you step through the door you are greeted by your great staff. All efforts are made to make you feel as you are the only person who matters. Full explanation of what is going on – glasses/lenses/options. Time to ask questions. Contacted when your follow-ups are due or lenses/glasses are ready. Thank you wonderful Eyeworks” Roberta Swann
