Children’s Vision

We always recommend you bring your child in for an eye test as early as possible as early detection will allow us to find the right solutions for your child.

Our friendly, qualified optometrist will check your child’s current prescription and test for colour and binocular vision. We will look for any signs of squints and lazy eyes too, and recommend the right glasses or contact lenses to suit your child’s eyes if they are required.

Not all schools provide early vision screening. We’re happy to help and can offer free NHS eye tests for all children under the age of 16 or anyone up to the age of 18 if they are still in full-time education.

There is no age restriction on when a child can wear contact lenses. It is up to the parent and whether they feel their child can be responsible enough to care for their contact lenses appropriately. We’ll show your child exactly what they need to do if contact lenses are the right choice.

Please pop in and see us or give us a call.
